Many of our clients tell us of an increasing dissatisfaction with their strategic processes. Instead of developing and making the few key choices, and establishing initiatives that drive change in the organization, we hear of annual exercises that focus more on accuracy of financials, and positioning for the coming budget cycle.

A key gap of these annual exercises is a tendency to focus on change from current position rather than developing future state and the urgency required to move there. That near-term focus tends to box organizations into incremental thinking, and an inability to prioritize resulting in weak implementations.
